Blog Post #3 Technology Leadership
We all know that children learn in different ways. We're constantly moving towards a more technology based generation. Since children know how to access a variety of technology then we have to stay informed as well to find a way to integrate it in an educational manner. This can be a little intimidating for some people but this will be the best time to reach out to your friendly media specialists for all concerns. The reading mentioned that school librarians are in a unique position to serve as leaders and
valuable assets through making meaningful contributions toward the integration of technology
and learning (Johnston, 2012).

Hi Tiffany, I enjoyed reading your post! Science4Us sounds like an excellent resource. I liked that the website seems to offer tons of instructions and guides for teachers so it would be easy to integrate. It also looks like it has tons of interactive and game components for students. I imagine that introducing new technology to teachers, especially if it means they have to change or adjust lesson plans, could be tricky. This tools seems like a good tool to ease teachers into the practice of integrating more tech into their lessons since it seems pretty user friendly for both teacher and student.

Hi Tiffany! I really appreciate that you introduced Science4Us as a valuable source for teachers, along with Vocabulary Spelling City. Teachers are always under pressure to integrate, especially Science and Social Studies with ELA skills, and these two sources help them meet that goal!
ReplyDeleteHey Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI like that you chose science for your subject. I find for myself its easier to find technology and online resources that help and fit in with the ELA and SS. It might just be that those are my favorite subjects. I really enjoyed playing and browsing through Science4Us. This looks like an excellent resource that could really help teachers. I found states of matter to be super impressive as it showcased the standards with the videos, and a lesson to help go with the video. I knew that second graders reviewed states of matter but I had no idea that k-1 also looked at these scientific terms in their standards. Great resource, thanks for sharing.
