Blog Post #7 Cyberbullying

With all the technology during these times, the more amount of time that children often spend on them instead of getting a breath of fresh air. It can only lead to more and more cyberbullying. We often witness some students being victimized in a school setting but I feel cyberbullying online is often hidden more by the kids in that situation. I was surprised about the increase in the adolescents' mental health issues and decrease in psychological well-being (Bickham, 2021). It is time for older folks to be more educated on the usages of technology so that we can help the younger generation. Technology can still have the benefits of networking and connecting with distant close people. Young people should be able to go online without always getting stressed out due to other people. October is national bullying awareness month where people often take a stance on educating kids to end the bullying but the consistency is the key. Blog Post #6 Libraries and Social Media

In today's society, we have a variety of social media options. Many are familiar with Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook. When it came to my school library account, I've chosen to use Twitter for my hypothetical. Twitter is very easy to navigate and your message can often reach a ton of people by just including a lot of well-known hashtags to go along with your tweet. Jenson (2019) stated that by placing the pound sign before a word or phrase, a social media user can create an ad hoc group of other postings that use that same hashtag. It will get your tweet out there faster than if it did not have a hashtag. My tool will support instruction and collaboration when it comes to following authors, writers, literacy coaches, and other librarians. When Jan Wilson said, "post photographs and information to promote the incredible happenings in your library, and try to post every week", in Make Your Library More Visible (2017) then I knew this was the best tool for me....

This is an app that is greatly appreciated to help make challenges easier for students with autism, speech challenges, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and all other communicative disorders. Teachers can download this onto chrome books, tablets, or iPads if they use them in their classroom. This app will allow us to reach all learners especially those whom seem more challenged only because we often lack the resources they need for us to better comprehend what is going on with them.      If you're like me then you're probably thinking this app is a dream come true! It really is but it does cost $60 in the app stores. There is no need to worry though because they offer free license programs for organizations (2017).
